Accounting Assistant

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join a logistics organization in Savannah, Georgia on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent role. This position supports daily accounting operations by handling transaction processing, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with billing and reconciliation activities. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with invoices, receivables, and payables while using Quick Books and Excel to keep information organized and up to date.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, assign appropriate coding, and prepare items for timely payment.
• Support customer invoicing and follow up on outstanding balances to help maintain healthy accounts receivable.
• Reconcile bank activity and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial records remain accurate.
• Enter and update accounting data in Quick Books with a strong focus on completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with billing activities, including preparing documentation and verifying charges before submission.
• Use Excel formulas and spreadsheets to track transactions, organize account details, and support reporting needs.
• Work with internal teams to resolve payment, invoice, and account issues in an efficient manner.
