WTOC is looking for a genuine "morning person" to anchor THE News at Daybreak! This role is all about energy, urgency, and connection. Daybreak prepares viewers for what's ahead, informs them of what happened overnight, and takes them to breaking news where it's happening. This is a high-profile position at our station, anchoring the #1 morning show in the Savannah market.

The right candidate for this role will:

• Anchor compelling and engaging morning newscasts, connecting with our audience and setting the tone for their day.
• Develop updates for network cut-ins and digital newscasts post 7 a.m.
• Collaborate closely with producers, reporters, and the weather team to craft dynamic and informative broadcasts.
• Contribute to story development and editorial decisions, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and relevance.
• Make strong connections in our communities, developing sources for stories and relationships for station initiatives.
• Turn compelling, enterprising content for other newscasts on a regular basis as a working journalist in our newsroom.
• Manage their time efficiently and effectively.
• Field anchor as necessary when large news events happen in our market.

• A college degree in journalism or broadcasting is preferred but not required.
• A minimum of three years of anchoring experience at a television station.
• Strong writing skills in both broadcast and AP styles.
• Solid news judgment and a commitment to journalistic ethics and accuracy.
• Strong work ethic, organizational, and leadership skills. Must be able to work quickly, meet deadlines, multitask, and show composure, especially during breaking news.
• Proficient in editing video and working knowledge of how to use a camera or shoot an interview.
