Type: Full‑time, Regular, 10‑month, 12‑15 semester hours per semester
This is a 10‑month faculty position with a teaching load of 12‑15 semester hours in undergraduate aviation courses. Courses will be delivered onsite at high‑school sites in Fayette and Clayton counties as part of MGA’s dual enrollment initiative. The role also includes participation in aviation‑related research.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate aviation courses, totaling 12‑15 semester hours per semester, in the Aviation Science and Management Department.
- Conduct dual enrollment aviation courses at high‑school sites in Fayette and Clayton counties.
- Advise and mentor aviation students on academic and career development.
- Develop course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assessments, and lab projects.
- Create training aids and mock‑ups for instructional use.
- Evaluate student achievement and competence.
- Collaborate with faculty and industry advisory committees.
- Utilize and demonstrate proficiency with D2L, the online teaching and learning platform.
Master’s degree in Aviation required. If the master’s or doctoral degree is not in Aviation, extensive experience in aviation combined with a master’s or doctoral degree is required.
Required Professional Qualifications- Demonstrated ability to teach a broad array of aviation training courses.
- Advanced knowledge typical of a doctoral degree in aviation.
- Civilian aviation experience, including FAR Part 121 or 135 operations.
- Industry experience in aviation.
- Teaching experience in aviation.
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and/or Ground Instructor certificates (AGI, IGI).
- Letter of interest including teaching philosophy and salary requirements.
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae.
- Unofficial academic transcripts (undergraduate and graduate).
- Names and contact information for three references.
