Overview

SCAD Savannah seeks an experienced full-time professor of digital communication to use their advanced knowledge of emerging interfaces, creative technologies, design thinking and design principles to instruct and inspire remarkable students as they reach toward their professional goals. We are seeking a dynamic educator who brings design thinking principles and collaborative leadership to our academic community, combining strong analytical abilities with advanced digital proficiency, particularly in Adobe Creative Suite.

As a digital communication faculty member, you will work with a team of esteemed professionals and academic colleagues in administering program curriculum and fostering a positive community for the next generation of artists.

Responsibilities
  • Meet expectations of planning and preparing for teaching, as well as maintaining an active and engaged classroom environment.
  • Design, submit, and obtain approval for syllabi; hold office hours and midterm grade reviews; provide extra-help sessions, extended-learning opportunities, and field trips; and conduct course/program level assessments.
  • Provide feedback to students to aid in academic growth; SCAD prepares talented students for creative professions through engaged teaching and learning in a positively oriented university environment.
  • Model professionalism; fulfill grading and academic documentation requirements; record attendance; follow academic policies and regulations; support academic-assessment and institutional-effectiveness efforts.
  • Attend on-ground and virtual events such as faculty meetings, admission events, curriculum assessment and development, institutional effectiveness and accreditation support, and any other events, exhibitions, or publicity assignments.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Terminal degree (or equivalent) in advertising, broadcast or graphic design, illustration, motion graphics, photography, visual effects, or a related digital media/communication discipline.
  • Academic and professional credentials to teach in varying disciplines relevant to this field.
  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
  • Experience in or knowledge of related professions.
