Middle Georgia State University (MGA) is a multi‑campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution located in central Georgia. MGA has five campuses – Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins – and a fully online campus.

The Department of Natural Sciences serves a student body ranging from science majors to students taking science courses for their core curriculum and offers a Bachelor of Science in Biology that prepares students for the modern workplace, graduate school or pre‑professional schools.

MGA is seeking a candidate for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Biology in the School of Health and Natural Sciences, beginning fall 2026. This position involves teaching, scholarship, and service, with responsibilities that may include day and/or evening, lower‑level and/or upper‑level biology courses, and travel among campuses.

• Teach undergraduate biology courses, including day, evening, online, and hybrid formats.
• Develop curriculum, mentor students, and serve on departmental and university committees.
• Participate in scholarship activities and foster student recruitment.
• Travel among MGA campuses as required.

• Ph.D. in Biology or a related field.
• Special attention to microbiology or organismal biology.

• Prior successful teaching experience.
• Experience or interest in supervising undergraduate research.
