Community Coach Opportunities
Calvary Day School invites applicants for the Community Coach position. We are a Christ‑centered school that serves students from Infant to 12th grade. Our mission is to foster the development of each student—spiritually, academically, socially, and physically—guided by the principle that "So Jesus grew both in height and in wisdom, and he was loved by God and by all who knew him."
(Luke 2:52).
We are looking for coaches who will prepare students for success through athletics and promote the mission of the school. The role requires leadership, faith‑based mentorship, and a commitment to student growth.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Lead student‑athletes in developing individual and team skills while cultivating them as Christian leaders.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self‑control, perseverance, and punctuality.
- Handle the stresses of athletic competition with emotional stability and positive language.
- Maintain a Christian role model appearance that aligns with school policy.
- Communicate in acceptable English, both written and oral.
- Respect and secure confidential information.
- Communicate appropriate expectations with athletes and parents.
- Ensure that all equipment, facilities, fields, and courts are safe for daily use.
- Experience coaching, teaching, or participating in sports at middle school, junior varsity, or varsity levels.
- Successful background working with student‑athletes and coaches.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a professional, empathetic approach.
- Willingness to collaborate closely with colleagues and parents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Capacity to meet the physical demands of the role.
- Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and a sense of humor.
