Field Engineer - Construction Services

Roberts Civil Engineering is seeking a Senior Field Engineer who has experience in civil site work and utility inspection for the Construction Services division of the company in our Savannah, Georgia office.

The position will be the main contact for a group of clients and ensure that the company’s high standards are met, and clients are satisfied with our service. The opportunity a full-time or part-time role is available.

• Conduct assessments of civil projects (e.g., roads, drainage, utilities, grading) on a weekly basis
• Prepare inspection reports documenting findings from field visits to civil project locations
• Communicate with clients, contractors, surveyors, and engineers
• Coordination with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (e.g. local jurisdictions, EPD, DNR)
• Resolve construction issues in-person
• Coordinate project team and attend meetings
• Performs other related duties as assigned

These responsibilities allow the job to have a combination of work inside and outside the office.

• Water and sewer pipe installation
• Stormwater management and pipe installation
• Erosion control and monitoring
• Assessment of existing asphalt conditions
• Asphaltic concrete paving
• Road construction
• Concrete paving

• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Experience in Microsoft programs
• 4-7+ years’ in municipal or civil site work, familiarity with local governments in and around the Savannah area
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Some survey experience preferred (not required)
• AutoCAD experience preferred (not required)
• United States Work Authorization (required)

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
• Must be able to travel to various agencies and clients, as needed
