You’ll translate engineering requirements into test strategies, hardware, instrumentation, procedures, and data while providing technical direction to engineers and technicians. This is an opportunity to combine hands‑on experimental test expertise with the technical leadership, independence, and judgment expected at this level.

As an Experimental Test Technical Specialist 3, a Level 5 engineering position
, you will lead complex engineering test projects involving mechanical, structural, materials, and environmental testing.

You’ll take engineering requirements from concept through test execution and results, determining appropriate test approaches, procedures, hardware, instrumentation, and data requirements. You’ll make technical decisions and recommendations, provide direction to engineering customers, and apply broad expertise or specialized knowledge to challenges requiring advanced engineering solutions.

Beyond individual test programs, you’ll help strengthen experimental testing by developing standards and guidance, mentoring engineers and technicians, and identifying strategic improvements to laboratory methods and processes.

Experimental testing puts you where engineering requirements meet physical validation. At Gulfstream, you’ll apply your expertise to technically challenging work supporting the research, design, development, service, and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft.

You’ll work across disciplines, interact directly with engineering customers, and use independent judgment to investigate difficult problems, develop improved approaches, and help advance experimental test capability.

• Lead experimental test projects of major complexity within established scope.
• Translate engineering requirements into test concepts, designs, procedures, hardware selections, instrumentation, and data requirements.
• Develop test plans, procedures, reports, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and other technical documentation.
• Apply advanced engineering principles and specialized expertise to mechanical, structural, materials, and environmental testing challenges.
• Make technical decisions and recommendations that have an important impact on broader engineering activities.
• Work directly with engineering customers to define testing needs and provide technical direction.
• Develop improved test methods, procedures, standards, and practices to optimize technical, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians while promoting safe and effective test practices.
