Overview

Lead Sonographer role at Memorial Health University Medical Center. Full-time Day Shift.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic scans and procedures using applied principles and protocols. Interview patients for history/diagnosis and verify physicians’ orders. Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy/abnormality.
  • Supervise day-to-day activities and workflow of the department. Communicate effectively with patients and all related medical personnel. Hold others accountable for complying with policies, procedures and standards. Assist manager in evaluating staff and with interviews.
  • Responsible for staff schedule. Contribute to a supportive and healthy work environment. Facilitate team building and preserve collaborative relationships; bring forth issues to aid in conflict resolution.
  • Operate all equipment proficiently and report deficiencies including ultrasound machines, PCs and PACS. Introduce self to patient, explain exam, obtain positive patient  appropriate history relative to the exam. Compare radiology requisition with written order before proceeding with exam. Accept responsibility for correction of orders and ensure previous exams are available as appropriate; manage call report process.
Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Certificate (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • 5 years experience required
  • No travel required
