St. Joseph’s/Candler (SJ/C) is a 714-bed private, faith-based, not-for-profit health system featuring two of the oldest hospitals in our country:
St. Joseph’s Hospital (founded in 1875) and Candler Hospital (founded in 1804). Accredited by the Joint Commission, St. Joseph’s/Candler is a proud 5-time recipient of the "Magnet" designation for nursing excellence, a feat only accomplished by 22 other health systems in the world, putting our nurses in an elite class of professionals.

The Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion is nationally recognized for its work in oncology care and is one of the principal partners in the National Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP), a program of the NCI and National Institute of Health.

Helping to shape the health care professionals of the future, SJ/C is also proud to be the Savannah Campus of the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University.
