Applications Support Analyst III

Job Overview

The Applications Analyst III works collaboratively with department directors, managers, peers, and business units to evaluate and manage the build, use of applications, and their interfaces. The role requires self‑direction, expert knowledge on assigned software applications, and acts as a change agent facilitating go‑live and upgrade processes. The analyst utilizes data analytics for continuous process improvement, documents reports, manages project scope, and mentors junior analysts.

• Provide expert advice on systems selection, installation, operation, and ongoing support of software applications.
• Facilitate or lead "go‑live" and "upgrade" processes, including training, testing, and actual conversion.
• Utilize data and analytics to create process improvement opportunities and provide documentation for regular reports to supervisors and management.
• Serve as project manager on assigned projects, ensuring completion on schedule, within budget, and managing changes in scope.
• Respond to functional questions, assist with troubleshooting, testing scenarios, and monitor application effects on provider workflows.
• Coach, mentor, and motivate Analysts I and II, vendors, and contractors, fostering positive action and accountability.
• Maintain documentation of all changes and decisions, and participate in capital and operating budget processes.
• Serve as a primary liaison between users and computer system vendors, addressing questions on system use, flexibility, hardware configurations, and workflow processes.
• Research and define user informational needs and workflow processes, recommending systems and workflow changes to enhance user productivity.
• Ensure policies and procedures comply with regulatory, meaningful use, and contractual requirements, auditing clinical applications for quality standards of care.

• Lead projects in information systems lifecycle: product selection, business requirement definition, communication, implementation, issue resolution, and product support.
• Lead implementation core teams, providing guidance in planning, coordination, and implementation of "go‑live" and "upgrade" activities.
• Customize dictionaries, security levels, menus, and screen displays per standard operating procedures.
• Maintain current and complete documentation of changes for all supported applications and adhere to change control policies.
• Provide continuous on‑site support during live or upgrade events.
• Make hardware recommendations as necessary and assist with interface testing.

• Education
  • Bachelor's in Information Systems – Required
  • Master's in Information Systems – Preferred
• Experience
  • 5–7 years supporting applications, project management, and health system functions – Required
  • Support or implementation of Healthcare IT systems – Required
  • Formal training in information systems, desktop applications, databases, software development packages, and programming languages – Preferred
  • Successful completion of training on Microsoft Windows, Office applications, and assigned software applications – Preferred
• License & Certification – None required
