Overview

Airgas is hiring a Plant Operator in Savannah, GA. This role involves safe and efficient operation of the production facility, including the filling of cylinders to meet high quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain equipment within the production facility, including compressors, pumps, filling stations, and forklifts.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks to keep equipment in optimal condition.
  • Safely handle and transport cylinders, conduct filling and quality checks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Operate a forklift to move materials and products within the facility safely.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, cylinder tracking, and production activities.
  • Collaborate with the team to keep a clean and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure work environment.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in industrial operations is a plus.
  • Previous experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as needed.
