Sr Material Handler – Nestlé Health Science
Position SummaryThe purpose of the Sr Material Handler job is to be responsible for all activities related to the dispensing of raw materials per specifications, adhering to SOPs and cGMPs to ensure the quality and quantity of the product produced.
Key Responsibilities- Independently and collaboratively dispense raw materials according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in production processes.
- Verify labels against batch records to guarantee proper material identification and traceability.
- Accurately document the dispensing process in alignment with formulas and SOPs to maintain reliable records.
- Load and unload raw materials safely and efficiently.
- Monitor the assigned area and report any damage or inconsistent materials to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Maintain high level of attention to detail including accurate scaling, measuring and sampling.
- Assist or conduct overflow jobs in the operations department when needed.
- Understand inventory requirements and adjustments.
- Provide mentorship and assistance to peers as needed, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
- Takes initiative in problem solving and decision making, escalating issues to supervisors when necessary.
- Demonstrate high attention to detail while performing data entry tasks using paper records, electronic devices, PC hardware/software, iPads, etc.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards to maintain a clean, organized work environment while maintaining consistent attendance.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to meet required manufacturing standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 2‑3 years of experience in a prior factory environment preferred.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
- Basic digital device proficiency (computers, iPad, etc.).
- Ability to follow safety procedures including Nestlé’s Life Saving Rules.
- Ability to speak, read and write in English and comprehend simple instructions.
- Physical ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs., stand, climb, bend, etc., within a manufacturing environment.
- Organizational skills to support team efforts.
- Proficiency in conveying instructions and providing clear guidance to team members.
- Understanding of material handling and manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments, fostering cross‑functional engagement.
- Overtime may be required based on business needs.
- Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals and food allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish and shellfish.
