Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years of application installation, fabrication, or related experience preferred. Experience in aerospace industry is a plus.

Position

Purpose:

The Interior Installation Technician II works under general supervision to remove, install, and/or fabricate aircraft interiors, which may include items such as trim, carpet, soundproofing, light structure, cabinetry, panels, and other accessories. All work performed should adhere to company design specifications, quality standards, and meet customer expectations.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

Safely perform aircraft removal, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors (galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, panels). Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with Repair Station procedures, FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality standards.

Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track issues, and sign-off work.

Follow SOPs when using tools and equipment such as hand tools, band saws, shears, sanders, and brakes. Maintain shop equipment and tools properly.

Prepare and install aircraft interior items according to company procedures and quality standards.

Remove and re-install nut plates, inserts, and fasteners used in aircraft interiors, applying proper hardware and fittings.

Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use PPE as required; address unsafe conditions proactively.

Assist technicians, under supervision, with aircraft maintenance tasks.

Adapt to schedule changes as needed.

Additional Functions:

Collaborate with lead and skilled technicians to develop process improvements using Lean Six Sigma techniques.

Create simple patterns for own use using standardized procedures.

Support aircraft certification and final testing, including flight tests if required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
Proficiency with hand and power tools related to interior installation/removal.
Ability to climb ladders/stairs, work in small spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
Computer literate.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
