Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on properties they have financial interest in. GIS contracts with lenders to have inspectors verify property occupancy, report general conditions, deliver letters or conduct vacant interior walkthroughs, and progress insurance repair reports. Most inspections are basic exteriors; some require interior access to secured or vacant properties and appointment‑based insurance loss inspections.

• Spend extended periods driving
• Efficient time management to route and complete inspections with an estimated 3‑5 day turnaround time in your agreed territory
• Determine occupancy based on industry standards and report general property conditions
• Use a mobile app to obtain all photographs, comments, and form documentation
• Communicate consistently with your inspection manager via text, email, and phone

• Computer with an internet connection
• Fuel‑efficient vehicle
• iPhone or Android device
• Printer
• Office supplies (paper, envelopes, ink)
• HUD keys (set of 11)
• Daylight hour availability
• Volt stick (preferred)

• Set rate per inspection is estimated at $15‑$20+ per hour based on the number of inspections performed
• Inspections are paid out every Friday by direct deposit for work completed the prior week
• Depending on the territory you should expect to work 5‑15+ hours per week
• The job is a 1099 Independent Contractor position

Pay and hours will vary depending on location, volume, and efficiency.
