Responsibilities include:
- Providing protection for protectees.
- Conducting criminal investigations related to U.S. financial obligations.
- Planning and executing security for National Special Security Events.

Minimum Requirements:- U.S. citizenship
- Valid driver's license
- Firearm proficiency and possession
- Age between 21 and 37 at the time of conditional offer (with exceptions for prior federal law enforcement service or veteran's preference)
- Top Secret Clearance
- Uncorrected visual acuity of 20/100 binocular, corrected to 20/20 or better
- Hearing within specified limits
- Drug testing and ongoing random testing
- Completion of 13 weeks at FLETC and 18 weeks at James J. Rowley Training Center
- Willingness to accept assignments nationwide and abroad
- Registration with the Selective Service System or exemption
