Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full‑time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our truck fleet at Ryder in Savannah, Georgia.

- Hourly Pay: $27.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to a maximum of $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter (four times per year)
- Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday – Friday - Hours:
Second Shift, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
- Annual merit pay increases each year

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or technical certifications (preferred)
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Two or more years of classroom training and/or work experience in required areas (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within six months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
- Execute preventive maintenance procedures
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identify root causes of basic failures and perform required repairs
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Carry out facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers and drivers to determine nature of complaints when assigned a task
- Use shop management system and electronic documentation tools
- Comply with all federal, provincial, and corporate safety, DOT, and MOT guidelines
- Perform additional support duties as required to support operations (e.g., service island support)
