Maintenance Worker IV – Chatham County, GA Government

With your trade school training and four (4) years of general construction work experience, you may be the Maintenance Worker IV we need. If you meet the minimum qualifications apply today.

• Perform skilled and complex journeyperson level maintenance and repair in a variety of trades, including carpentry, storm drain, concrete, and asphalt.
• Drive County vehicles, perform preventative maintenance, and supervise a small crew.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide on‑call support on a 24‑hour basis, as this role is on Critical Workforce Category 2.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Trade School training in a skilled trade.
• At least four (4) years of general construction work experience in one or more skilled crafts; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License at time of application.
• Hazardous Material endorsement obtained within six months of hire.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and wear approved steel‑toe protective footwear during normal working hours.
• Availability for on‑call duty during non‑working hours, holidays, and weekends, and ability to use personal transportation to respond.
• Strong ability to follow and give oral and written instructions.
