Purpose of PositionThe Pilot is responsible for providing a superior air transportation experience with an unbroken safety record. The Pilot serves as Net Jets’ face, delivering technically accurate and safe transportation while offering an exceptional service experience to every Net Jets Owner and passenger. The Pilot wears many hats, ranging from professional aviator to in‑flight service provider, and is always in full command of the aircraft while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Tasksand Responsibilities
- Safe operation of the aircraft from taxi, take‑off, and landing per FAA guidelines, OEM checklists, Net Jets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and SOPs.
- Greeting Owners/passengers pre‑flight, making introductions, briefing them on itinerary, and providing weather updates and safety briefings.
- Providing in‑flight service as needed, including alcohol handling and catering service.
- Loading and properly stowing all baggage on the aircraft.
- Handling flights for Owners with pets and those who smoke.
- Serving as the final authority on aircraft operations and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory guidance.
- Acting as liaison for Owners/passengers and Net Jets from arrival at the FBO until departure at the final FBO.
- Communicating maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the Company via the Maintenance Control Center (MCC) and completing associated paperwork.

- At least 21 years of age
- 1,500 hours total flight time experience, or 1,250 hours with appropriate university R‑ATP certificate, or 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification, or 1,000 hours with appropriate university R‑ATP certificate
- 200 hours cross‑country (>50 nm) flight time
- 250 hours fixed‑wing PIC
- 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with ≥45 night take‑offs and landings
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in‑flight, excludes simulator time)
- ATP written completed prior to start of Indoctrination Training
- 50 hours fixed‑wing, multi‑engine time
- Current FAA First‑Class Medical certificate
- FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit
- Valid passport
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction
- Ability to work varying hours including day and night; weekdays, weekends and holidays
- Extreme flexibility and ability to adjust to rapid changes
- Ability to manage rest to be prepared for flight duty at all times during the tour
- Duty may last up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight days, spanning different time zones and extreme weather differences
- While on duty may be away from home for seven or more days and nights, staying in hotels
- Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges
- Must pass Transportation Security Administration background screening
- Valid U.S. passport for international travel
- Valid State driver’s license
- Fluent reading, writing, speaking, and understanding of English
- Service‑oriented with a neat, well‑groomed appearance and strong interaction capability with passengers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially under pressure
