Crane Operator – Peeples Industries, Inc.
Job PurposeOperate ships gear crane and other specialized heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner with the objective of loading or unloading bulk cargo to or from a vessel.
Responsibilities- Prepare equipment by conducting operator inspections and performing preventive maintenance checks.
- Operate equipment, observe varying conditions, and adjust equipment controls.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with company policies and legal regulations.
- Report hazards or concerns to supervisor. Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and calling for repairs.
- Update job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
- Accomplish operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Minimum of 1-year experience operating cranes.
- Flexible schedule: rotating shifts, days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to qualify for TWIC card.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including drug screen, physical and background check.
