Crane Operator

Crane Operator – Peeples Industries, Inc.

Operate ships gear crane and other specialized heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner with the objective of loading or unloading bulk cargo to or from a vessel.

• Prepare equipment by conducting operator inspections and performing preventive maintenance checks.
• Operate equipment, observe varying conditions, and adjust equipment controls.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with company policies and legal regulations.
• Report hazards or concerns to supervisor. Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and calling for repairs.
• Update job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
• Accomplish operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Minimum of 1-year experience operating cranes.
• Flexible schedule: rotating shifts, days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to qualify for TWIC card.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including drug screen, physical and background check.
