OEG Building Materials is looking for a Reinforcing Steel CAD Detailer & Project Coordination Lead to turn design intent into precise shop drawings, align materials and logistics, and support project execution—while building strong relationships with consulting engineers and construction teams.
Pay Range$50,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr
What Your Day Could Look LikeYou begin by opening AutoCAD to translate architectural and structural plans into accurate rebar shop drawings that meet codes and specifications. By mid‑morning, you’ve clarified design constraints with a consulting engineer, documented updates, and refined project timelines. After lunch, you review contractor bids, negotiate with a vendor, and prepare a materials cost estimate. You finish with a brief site visit to verify conditions, resolve a field question, and update records before logging off.
Responsibilities- Produce structural shop drawings and rebar detailing in conformance with specifications, codes/standards, and product reliability targets.
- Visit job sites to observe conditions, evaluate constraints, and troubleshoot issues.
- Prepare and review plans/drawings; perform detailed drafting work in AutoCAD.
- Assist with materials takeoffs and cost estimates; present cost proposals.
- Support design activities on civil/structural projects as needed.
- Maintain engineering documentation, files, and project records.
- Develop and distribute project descriptions, milestones, and schedules.
- Study product design, customer requirements, and performance standards to define project specifications.
- Review contractor bids and negotiate with vendors; coordinate the technical aspects of projects through meetings and proactive communication.
- Strengthen relationships with consulting engineering firms and construction companies through timely, technical support.
- BS degree required.
- Experienced AutoCAD user with the ability to translate architectural, structural, and process drawings into shop‑ready details.
- Problem‑solver who can craft detailed solutions to complex, multi‑technology challenges and provide hands‑on technical advice/troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated leadership: able to guide cross‑functional teams, influence outcomes, and coach for high performance and engagement.
- Strong communicator—written and verbal—with a collaborative mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Willing to travel occasionally (typically less than 10%).
- Confident making informed, independent decisions.
