• Assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy and performs other Pharmacy Department duties according to company policies.
• Uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• If PTCB certified, assists and coaches pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems and cashiers in the operation of pharmacy cash registers.
• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolves customer issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members.
• Develops strong relationships with most valuable customers.
• Under supervision, performs duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, checking for interactions, and scheduling workflow.
• Reports prescription errors immediately to pharmacist and adheres to company policies.
• Registers and processes all sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash, directs customers to OTC aisle when possible.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including calls to physicians.
• Prepares and resubmits manual claims for third‑party prescription programs and performs other clerical duties as assigned.
• Assists inventory management activities: ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
• Assists with clinical services, such as collecting and labeling samples and coordinating with external providers.
• Maintains relationships with local medical community through outreach.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly Pharmacy Department and supplies.
• Complies with all company policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated training program or state‑required certification/registration.
• Attends training and completes PPLs requested by Manager and acquires continuing education credits.
• Maintains knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.

• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• At least one year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in specified locations).

• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills (counting, measuring and weighing medications).
• Basic PC skills: starting and shutting down computer, using mouse, opening and closing programs, printing documents, accessing information online.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
