Position SummaryThe Production Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager and oversees day-to-day operations for assigned shifts in our snack manufacturing facility. This role ensures that production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. The Supervisor manages staff assignments, addresses employee concerns, tracks performance metrics, and coordinates with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth, uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities Staffing & Scheduling- Assign team members to production lines based on daily needs and production schedules.
- Plan and approve overtime in coordination with management.
- Conduct accurate shift handovers to ensure seamless transitions.
- Lead, train, and coach employees on production processes, troubleshooting, and equipment operation.
- Assign work orders according to production schedules and flag any risks to meeting targets.
- Maintain ownership of ERP system transactions related to production, ensuring accuracy and resolving errors.
- Partner with Quality Control on product hold, rework, and changeover processes.
- Enforce sanitation and cleaning protocols.
- Address and escalating safety concerns; lead incident investigations when needed.
- Use Redzone to monitor production output, OEE, downtime, and KPIs.
- Review downtime causes and present findings during daily operations meetings.
- Drive performance improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with Maintenance to prioritize and resolve mechanical issues.
- Direct material handlers to ensure timely picking and staging of materials.
- Coordinate training programs, including cross‑training, to maintain a versatile workforce.
- Output per Man‑Hour:
Achieve production volume goals in alignment with staffing levels. - Safety KPI:
Zero recordable safety incidents; timely closure of corrective actions. - Quality KPI:
Maintain or improve first‑pass quality rate; minimize rework and product holds.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably food or snack production.
- Proficiency with ERP systems;
Redzone experience preferred. - Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and act on performance data.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in varying temperature and noise conditions.
