Accounting Manager

Position: Accounting Manager Month Contract
Manage financial reporting and processes as an Accounting Manager for a 6-month contract in Scarborough. Ensure month-end closes and oversee internal controls while leading your accounting team.

Vaco by Highspring seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to handle month-end closes and prepare financial statements. This role demands strong accountability in managing job costing, sales tax filings, and overseeing compliance. You will also supervise the accounting team and work on improving financial efficiency while supporting budgeting and forecasts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end close process ensuring accuracy

• Prepare and review financial statements monthly and annually

• Monitor profitability across business units and projects

• Oversee job costing, labor costing, and overhead allocations

• Coordinate external audits and year-end financial requirements

Requirements:

• 6+ years in accounting with full cycle experience

• Construction industry knowledge, particularly WIP and revenue recognition

• CPA designation preferred but not mandatory

• Budgeting and forecasting experience is a plus

• Exposure to US GAAP is an asset
