31H3 - Glacial Geology at UofT Scarborough. Deliver engaging content on glacial climates and lead students through experiential field learning.
The University of Toronto Scarborough is looking for a skilled Sessional Lecturer to teach the Glacial Geology course from September to December 2026. In this position, you'll explore the last 2.5 million years of ice sheet formations, demonstrating both geological aspects and their implications in a modern context.
Your role will be pivotal in shaping students' knowledge and appreciation of environmental sciences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver lectures focusing on glacial history
• Create relevant assignments and exams for assessment
• Conduct a field trip to contextualize course content
• Provide direction for TA support throughout the semester
• Manage grading and student evaluations comprehensively
Requirements:
• PhD in Geology, Environmental Earth Science, or similar
• Experience in Glacial Geology or related fields
• Preferred university teaching background
• Comfort with instructional technology tools
• Skills in online education delivery preferred
Influence future geoscientists by teaching Glacial Geology at UofT Scarborough.
