Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist –
Piper Shores
Piper Shores is Maine’s only non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community. We are looking for a detail‑oriented finance professional to perform payroll and accounts payable functions. This is an on‑site position with strong growth potential along with an opportunity to work alongside a team of highly skilled finance professionals in a warm and welcoming environment.
EssentialJob Duties
- Payroll Duties:
- Reviews, summarizes, and inputs payroll information via electronic system.
- Responds to employee questions regarding payroll.
- Along with HR, ensures accuracy of employee benefit selections.
- Reviews and maintains employee time and attendance information.
- Along with HR, maintains employee profiles.
- Transmits tax deposits.
- Processes year‑end filings.
- Accounts Payable Duties:
- Reviews accounts payable invoices for accuracy and inputs data.
- Selects invoices for payment and processes payments.
- Reconciles vendor statements to ensure proper charges and credits have been recorded.
- Partners with vendors to ensure accurate and timely payment.
- Prepares bank reconciliations.
- Maintains pertinent documentation and records.
- Maintains vendor profiles for correct sales tax status and payment information.
- Other accounts payable or payroll duties as assigned.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Prior relevant professional experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new technologies.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and payroll processes.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
