Job Title: K-8 Special Ed FLS Education Technician I, II, III 2025-26

Description: Special Education - Functional Life Skills Program

• Supports direct academic and behavioral instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings
• Perform non-instructional, non-evaluative functions
• Help students master equipment/instructional materials assigned by the teacher
• Provide classroom management functions
• Assist with playground/recess, lunch and bus duties as requested
• Assist with supervision of students during emergency / fire drills, assemblies and field trips
• Provide escort and assistance to students as necessary
• Work cooperatively and positively with coworkers and supervisors
• Participate in in-service training programs as assigned
• Perform Personal Care duties (i.e. feeding, lifting, toileting, etc) as required
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising special education teacher, principal, or Director of Special Services

Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for Education Technician I, II, or III Certification from Maine Department of Education and CHRC fingerprinting.

Fingerprinting: Maine State Law requires ALL school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Record Check (CHRC). A copy of your CHRC MUST be uploaded as part of your application to be considered.
