Description: This position is for a 2nd grade regular education classroom from January 5 through the end of the school year. Collaboration and teamwork are essential, as the teacher will work closely with colleagues to best meet the needs of all students. Responsibilities include implementing flexible grouping, supporting students from a variety of cultural backgrounds and needs, and contributing to a collaborative learning environment.
Experience or knowledge of Math in Focus and Units of Study in Reading and Writing is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Maine Department of Education K-8 Teacher Certification
- Current CHRC required
- Experience with Math in Focus and Units of Study in Reading and Writing preferred
- Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
- Familiarity with Responsive Classroom and Social/Emotional Learning
- Previous classroom teaching experience preferred
