This position is a Part Time Evening shift position with Microbiology.

Nor Dx – Professional‑Clinical Laboratory. The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Science role is responsible for independently performing and monitoring laboratory testing of patient specimens, confirming, interpreting, correlating, and reporting normal and abnormal patient results, and recognizing technical, instrumental, or physiological problems to initiate resolutions. Responsibilities include maintaining accuracy, quality control, and required instrument maintenance.

Sign‑on bonus:
Candidates with fewer than 2 years of experience are eligible for a $7,500.00 bonus; those with more than 2 years are eligible for $15,000.00. Bonuses will be prorated for Part‑Time or Per‑Diem positions. Relocation assistance and temporary housing are available if needed. The bonus is not available to current Maine Health employees or former employees separated from Maine Health for less than six months.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science required.

  Certifications:
  
  Current applicable state(s) license as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or as a Categorical Technologist (e.g., C, H, MB, BB, M) by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT) required within six months of start date.
