Maine Health is seeking a Patient Service Specialist (PSS) to join our dedicated IV Therapy team in Scarborough. This front‑facing role is critical in supporting patients—many living with cancer or chronic illnesses—as they navigate their treatment journeys. As a PSS, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients and families, delivering compassionate customer service while ensuring accurate scheduling, registration, and coordination of care.

This is more than a clerical role—it’s a chance to make a lasting impact on our patients’ healthcare experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and check in patients with professionalism and empathy
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments with attention to clinical needs and continuity of care
  • Verify insurance and collect co‑pays or other payments
  • Respond to patient inquiries, troubleshoot scheduling challenges, and advocate for patient needs
  • Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Collaborate closely with nurses, providers, and administrative team members

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education:

    High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • License/

    Certifications:

  • Experience:

    Six months of medical office experience required.
