Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (consistent schedule)

Remote Flexibility:
After approximately six months of training, team members may work remotely up to four days per week.

About the Role

Maine Health is seeking a Patient Service Specialist (PSS) to join our Neurosurgery and Spine team in Scarborough. In this role, you’ll serve as the first point of contact for patients referred to our busy practice. You’ll help process incoming referrals, schedule appointments, and ensure each patient’s experience begins with exceptional service and efficiency.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and takes pride in providing compassionate, accurate support to patients and providers alike. While prior medical clerical experience is helpful, we’re willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong communication skills and a commitment to excellence in patient care.

Our Intake Department is a dynamic group of eight professionals dedicated to connecting patients with the specialized neurosurgical and spine care they need. Team members enjoy a supportive environment, meaningful work, and the flexibility to work remotely after training.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    High school diploma or GED preferred.

    Six months of medical office experience required.
