Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
We are now hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Scarborough, Maine
. Transdev in Scarborough seeks an experienced Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll help ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity of our fleet.
Compensation
:
Competitive package of $24.50 - $30.00 per hour.
- Vacation: minimum two weeks
- Sick days: 5 days
- Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating

- Company-paid ASE testing and training materials
- Annual allowance for boots and prescription safety glasses
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs to ensure vehicles are safe for customers
- Diagnose and repair all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, and related components
- Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately; maintain records of all maintenance work, including parts and supplies used
- Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections
- When applying, upload a resume or provide at least 3+ years of employment history; applications submitted without sufficient information may not be considered
- A valid CDL B driver s license with Air Brake and Passenger Endorsements is required within 6 months of hire
- 3+ years of verifiable professional diesel repair experience or a combination of education and experience
- Must have an appropriate mechanic’s tool set
- ASE certifications are preferred; participate in the company ASE certification program (training, testing, and bonuses provided)
- Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs
- Work outside in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity conditions; approximately 10% of the work is outside
- Sit for extended periods; frequently walk long distances over uneven surfaces
- Push/pull objects; lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch
- Exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise
