GSL Education are currently recruiting for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work across schools and educational settings in Scarborough and the surrounding areas.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with their learning and personal development. Working alongside teachers and support staff, you will help create a positive learning environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to individual learners and small groups, helping students access the curriculum, develop confidence, and engage fully in school life. You will work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure that all learners receive the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed.

Core Responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant:
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help students access learning
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive classroom activities
  • Encourage student confidence, independence, and active participation in lessons
  • Support learners with additional educational, social, or emotional needs where required
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
As the Ideal Learning Support Assistant, You Should Have:
  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, or support setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting learners
  • Ability to build positive relationships and work effectively as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills and a proactive attitude
  • A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their full potential
To Work with GSL Education, You Must:
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
  • Have recent experience working with children or young people
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
