Job Title: PE Teacher

Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire

Contract Type: Temporary, Full Time, Part-Time, Term Time Only

Start Date: September 2026 or sooner

Salary Scale: £32,916 - £51,048 per annum (MPS/UPS)

GSL Education Hull branch are currently hiring enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teachers to work in secondary schools across Scarborough and the surrounding areas. As a Physical Education Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that encourage students to develop their physical abilities, improve their fitness, and enjoy participating in a wide range of sporting activities. You will play an important role in promoting healthy lifestyles while creating a positive and supportive learning environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Encourage participation, teamwork, resilience, and healthy lifestyles through a range of sporting activities.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and educational needs.
  • Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback on student progress and achievement.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety, and engagement during practical lessons.
  • Support extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures, and enrichment activities where required.
Minimum Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Physical Education within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
