GSL Education Hull branch are currently searching for a knowledgeable, patient, and enthusiastic Maths Tutor to work across secondary schools and educational settings in Scarborough and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who enjoys providing personalised support and helping students strengthen their mathematical understanding. Whether you have experience as a teacher, tutor, or learning support professional, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference to learners preparing for examinations or requiring additional academic support.
About the RoleAs a Maths Tutor, you will provide targeted one-to-one and small-group tuition to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will adapt your teaching approach to suit individual learning needs, helping students build confidence, improve problem-solving skills, and achieve their academic goals.
Core Responsibilities- Deliver engaging one-to-one and small-group Mathematics tuition
- Plan and adapt learning activities to meet individual student needs
- Support learners in developing confidence, numeracy, and problem-solving skills
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support improvement
- Prepare students for classroom assessments and external examinations
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support positive learner outcomes
- A degree in Mathematics or a related subject, or relevant tutoring experience
- Experience teaching, tutoring, or supporting Mathematics within an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Mathematics curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, encouraging, and adaptable approach to supporting learners
- A genuine passion for helping students achieve their full potential
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
- Have recent experience working within an educational setting
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
