Psychiatric Care & Support, Mental Health, Healthcare Nursing
Job summary
The post is based at Cross Lane Hospital, which is a modern, custom-built, AIMS-accredited psychiatric unit. The Ayckbourn unit houses the male and female AMH wards.
The job is split into 3 sessions of supporting professional activities (SPA) and 7 sessions of direct clinical care (DCC).
You will provide expert assessment and care to patients admitted to the wards, specifically to 6 patients, 3 on each ward. They will have a dedicated slot for discussion of their patients in the daily report out. The daily report out is attended by a Multidisciplinary team comprising the people described in Section
3. They provide input based on a biological, psychological, and social model to support the treatment and recovery of each patient. The two nurse consultants would have similar slots to discuss their patients. There is an expectation of the postholder supporting the Specific MHA requirements that the Nurse consultants portfolios, such as sectioning of patient, does not permit.
It is hoped that you will be encouraged to use the enhanced SPA provision within this post to engage in research, education or service development in conjunction with local colleagues in order to ensure that this can occur in formal protected time. You will be expected to provide key medical leadership to the wards alongside the MPACs and a multi-disciplinary team.
