CNC Operative Scarborough Area

£16.00 per hour + 30% Shift Allowance + Overtime

Permanent | Full Time

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in the Scarborough area. Supplying high-quality machined components into a variety of industries, the business offers a modern machining environment, ongoing investment in its people and clear opportunities for career progression.

The Role

As a CNC Operative, you'll play a key role in manufacturing precision components to the highest quality standards.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Setting and operating CNC machinery.
  • Producing one-off and small batch precision components.
  • Working from engineering drawings.
  • Manufacturing components to tight tolerances.
  • Inspecting your own work using measuring equipment.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and housekeeping.
  • Working collaboratively within an experienced machining team.
About You

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience setting and operating CNC machinery.
  • Experience with in a precision engineering or metal fabrication environment.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • A keen eye for detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
Experience in any of the following would also be beneficial, but is not essential:
  • CNC milling or turning.
  • Editing or creating CNC programmes.
  • Heidenhain controls.
  • CAD/CAM software such as Solid Works or CAMWorks.
