The Role This is an exciting opportunity to join Broadacres, working in partnership with North Yorkshire Council to deliver the LIFE contract which stands for Living Independently for Everyone. We are more than doubling the number of people we support over the coming years. You can be part of this, joining a growing support service that helps people with mental health needs and multiple disadvantages to live independently, build resilience and move towards a more stable future.
As part of the LIFE contract, you will play a key role in supporting people to sustain tenancies, prevent homelessness, develop practical life skills and access the right support at the right time. This role will commence on 1st October 2026 when the new service launches. This role goes beyond delivering high-quality support. You'll also provide guidance and coaching to colleagues, support quality assurance activities, and act as a source of expertise for complex customer cases.
Explain the Role You'll act as a Key Worker, helping customers develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed to sustain their independence. Alongside this, you'll work closely with Support Workers and Team Leaders, offering advice on complex cases, conducting quality checks and audits, and contributing to continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities Deliver person-centred support to customers experiencing multiple disadvantage. Act as a Key Worker, developing and reviewing support plans and risk assessments. Provide guidance, advice and practical support to colleagues on complex customer cases. Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and risk management best practice. Support customers through crisis situations and facilitate appropriate interventions. Conduct quality checks and audits to ensure high service standards.
Support continuous improvement across the service and promote best practice. Facilitate customer meetings, reviews and multi-agency partnership working. Organise and facilitate customer drop-in sessions and engagement activities. Deputy for Team Leaders when required. Maintain accurate records, reports and compliance documentation. Promote customer independence, engagement and successful move-on outcomes. About You We are looking for people who are compassionate, resilient and committed to making a positive difference to individuals facing a range of challenges, including homelessness, substance misuse, autism, mild learning disabilities and complex needs.
You'll be confident working independently while also supporting and mentoring colleagues. You'll bring excellent communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage challenging situations with professionalism and empathy. As someone who thrives in a customer-focused environment, you'll be committed to delivering high-quality services while continually looking for ways to improve outcomes for both customers and colleagues. Essential Qualifications & Experience Substantial experience supporting customers experiencing multiple disadvantage.
Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (or equivalent). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
Experience of problem-solving and managing complex customer situations. Good understanding of safeguarding and best practice when supporting vulnerable customers. Confident IT user with experience of maintaining accurate digital records. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
Desirable Experience working within a supported housing environment. Knowledge of government initiatives and standards relating to supported housing services.
