About the Position
The Senior Project Manager is the most senior leader in the business unit after the Division General Manager and plays a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of multiple roofing projects across the Southeast. This position oversees the full project lifecycle—from preconstruction and planning to field execution and closeout—while providing strong leadership to both internal teams and external partners.
The Senior Project Manager will manage high-visibility commercial and industrial roofing projects (typically $250K–$3M), ensuring they are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This leader must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, capable of working on elevated roofs when needed, and skilled at building strong relationships with contractors, architects, owners, and field personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Preconstruction:
Analyze material and labor estimates and identify optimization opportunitiesLead submittal development and review contractual obligationsConduct job-specific safety reviews (JHA, SSSP)Serve as the primary senior-level liaison with GCs, architects, and owners (RFIs, COs, meetings)Define or negotiate construction schedules and sequencingSelect and negotiate subcontractors and subcontract amountsReview project-specific Bill of Materials with the remote support teamProvide recommendations on staffing, crew allocation, and resource planningConstruction Management:
Understand project plans, phasing, and schedules; manage progress throughout constructionMonitor budgets, productivity, and project financial performanceReview and approve payroll and billing documentationProvide field insight for pay applications and monthly financialsMake regular site visits to provide direction to superintendents, subcontractors, and partnersMaintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project alignmentCloseout:
Support project closeout by providing documentation related to warranties, substantial completion, manuals, and required turnover materialsRequirements
5–10 years of roofing, construction project management, or relevant industry experienceExperience delivering commercial and industrial flat roofing or steep-slope commercial roofing projectsProven ability to manage projects ranging from $250K to $3MAbility to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and roofing plansCommitment to upholding the company’s mission, vision, values, and principles of diversity, equity, and inclusionAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environmentBenefits
