Position: MSAT Digital Innovation Engineer (2 years limited)

Position Summary

You will lead cross‑functional project teams and act as Site MSAT Subject Matter Expert (SME) to evaluate, pilot, and deploy innovative technologies and digital solutions that improve shop floor execution and MSAT business processes. This includes dashboards, automated reporting and data‑driven workflows, as well as executing pilot studies for new software and tools to assess value, usability and fit to GMP/MSAT processes.

You will coordinate stakeholders across functions and represent the department in digital tool initiatives from evaluation through sustainment. A background in data science is beneficial, as you may support statistical analyses during non‑conformance investigations and contribute to locally deployed advanced process control models.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as Site MSAT Subject Matter Expert for digital tools such as dashboards, automated reporting, data‑driven workflows
  • Run pilot studies for new software/tools and assess value, usability and GMP fit
  • Lead implementation projects of digital solutions and support validation with QA/CSV (documentation, testing)
  • Present project updates and strategies in different forums incl. leadership meetings and steering committees
  • Support data‑driven investigations by applying statistical analyses in non‑conformance investigations; potentially support troubleshooting and updates of locally deployed Advanced Process Control models in collaboration with global SMEs
  • Support internal and health authority inspections as SME (e.g. tool documentation, application and training)
  • Build strong cross‑functional partnerships (Manufacturing, Quality, Automation/IT, Analytics, Engineering)
Qualifications
  • University degree in Engineering, Data Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Informatics or equivalent, PhD or at least two years of pharmaceutical experience; ideally hands‑on with digital tools (dashboards/automated reporting), software pilots, and data‑driven methods (statistics and/or advanced process control)
  • Experience translating business needs into digital requirements (e.g., user stories), working with relevant manufacturing data sources (e.g., MES/LIMS/process historian systems) and building or managing BI/reporting solutions (e.g., Power BI, Python, Tableau, experience with platforms such as Databricks and Posit is a plus) in a regulated environment
  • Proven project leadership experience in a GMP‑regulated (life sciences) environment, with the ability to drive cross‑functional delivery from requirements through implementation and sustainment. You work independently with strong ownership, structure and initiative, and you collaborate effectively to meet project timelines
  • Your strength is decision making and problem‑solving, combined with excellent communication skills to represent MSAT in cross‑functional and cross‑sites teams within the global matrix organization
  • You are open to new ideas, and you drive innovation
  • Proficiency in English is required, German is a plus
