Job Description & How to Apply Below

Our client, a global pharmaceutical company, is running a portfolio of high value projects. We're looking for someone who has been in the trenches of capital project procurement, someone who can read a trade package, understand what the CM is doing, and push back when something doesn't look right. This is not a desk-based process role; it requires being on the ground, engaged with the work, and capable of directly influencing procurement outcomes.

You'll need to walk into a room with a CM firm and bring genuine credibility, someone who knows how to negotiate, not just facilitate.

This is a hands‑on, execution-focused role. Strategic thinkers who haven't operated at the project level will not be a fit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee capital equipment procurement in support of a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing capital program.
  • Lead trade packages procurement in close collaboration with an on-site construction management firm.
  • Negotiate and influence trade deals with the CM firm across a broad range of equipment and services categories.
  • Manage procurement scope across electrical, mechanical, building automation, and infrastructure equipment.
  • Partner with project stakeholders to ensure procurement execution remains aligned with program timelines and requirements.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors and suppliers to manage lead times, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
  • Monitor procurement progress and provide regular updates to on-site project leadership.
  • Support the resolution of procurement-related issues and commercial disputes as they arise throughout the program.
  • Drive favorable commercial outcomes on behalf of the owner across all procurement categories.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in capital equipment procurement on large-scale programs, $300M+ project scale strongly preferred.
  • Background in an EPC or CM environment, or owner-side capital procurement within pharma, life sciences, or heavy industrial preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence trade package deals within a CM delivery model.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess, structure, and challenge complex procurement agreements.
  • Familiarity with GMP or regulated manufacturing environments a plus.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, on-site project environment with minimal oversight.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across project teams, contractors, and senior leadership.
Preferred Backgrounds
  • EPC experience / or EPC firm background
  • Owner-side capital procurement experience within pharma, chemicals, heavy industrial, or power/utilities
  • CM firm background candidates who understand trade package structures from the contractor side
