The Nonprofit Accounting Manager leads client engagements and staff to deliver accurate financial statements, fund accounting, and compliance support for nonprofit clients, from day-to-day bookkeeping through audit and Form 990 readiness.

An Outsourced Accounting Manager at TL Squared, LLP focuses on overseeing client engagements, managing teams of supervisors and staff accountants, and providing strategic financial insights to our clients. The Manager serves as a key leader within the firm, ensuring that client deliverables are completed with excellence while driving process improvements and mentoring team members to support their professional growth.

• Client Management and Advisory
• Serve as the primary advisor for assigned clients, providing strategic financial insights and recommendations.
• Oversee client engagements, ensuring deliverables such as financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses are accurate, timely, and aligned with client expectations.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, regular check-ins, and addressing any challenges or opportunities.
• Lead client meetings to discuss financial performance, process improvements, and strategic business decisions.
• Identify opportunities for additional services, contributing to the growth of the firm’s client base.
• Team Leadership and Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, senior accountants, and staff accountants.
• Provide ongoing training, guidance, and performance feedback to support team members' professional growth.
• Conduct performance evaluations, set clear goals, and identify development opportunities for team members.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages accountability, ownership, and teamwork.
• Balance team workloads, ensuring efficient allocation of tasks and resources across engagements.
• Engagement and Workflow Oversight
• Oversee multiple client engagements simultaneously, managing deadlines, deliverables, and team productivity.
• Review and approve work completed by supervisors and staff accountants, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to GAAP and firm standards.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and profitability, ensuring engagements remain on track.
• Leverage workflow tools like Karbon to manage team assignments, prioritize tasks, and track progress.
• Technical Execution and Process Improvement
• Provide technical oversight and expertise for complex accounting tasks, including accruals, financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements across all client deliverables.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with partners and firm leadership to standardize processes and drive operational excellence.
