Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

Base pay: $16.00/hr – $18.00/hr

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members.

• Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
• Recommends items for sale and trade‑up/companion items.
• Registers customer purchases on the cash register, processes returns, refunds, exchanges and handles cash and change.
• Keeps counters and shelves clean, merchandised, and maintains inventory records.
• Performs duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including processing prescriptions, entering patient information, verifying medicine, and checking for interactions.
• Reports prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and follows company policies and the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including physician calls.
• Processes and resubmits manual claims for third‑party prescription services.
• Supports pharmacy inventory management and reports discrepancies.
• Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Constructs and maintains displays, promotions, and seasonal merchandise.
• Assists with food item separation, stock rotation, and correct placement.
• Operates store systems, equipment, and the photo area services.
• Manages web pickup orders and monitors Picture Care Plus orders.
• Maintains store appearance and cleanliness.
• Complies with all company policies and maintains respectful coworker relationships.
• Completes additional assignments as directed.

• Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated program or state‑required certification/registration.
• Attends required training and completes PPLs; maintains knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• At least six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Computer proficiency.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
