Payroll Accountant

Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

$55,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of assigned financial transactions
• Perform regular account reconciliations to maintain accuracy of financial records
• Research and resolve basic accounting discrepancies and irregularities; escalate more complex issues as necessary
• Follow established policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and all state and federal regulations
• Respond to internal and external customer inquiries promptly and professionally; provide instruction to help users understand accounting processes related to their transactions
• Cross-train across accounting functions to broaden understanding of financial systems and processes

• Basic accounting knowledge with the ability to analyze and resolve routine issues
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and operate under pressure
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related technology; intermediate to advanced skill level preferred
• Flexibility to navigate a rapidly changing environment
• Ability to work under direct supervision and make decisions within established guidelines
• This role does not supervise employees
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience preferred
• 2-4 years of accounting experience preferred
