Position Overview

On behalf of our client, a distinguished family-owned community banking organization, we are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Commercial Lender to join its Northeast San Antonio market team. This position is based in Schertz, Texas, and reports to the Market President.

Market Opportunity

The Schertz–Cibolo–Selma corridor, located along Interstate 35 just northeast of Bexar County, is among the most rapidly developing areas in the greater San Antonio region. Significant growth drivers include a new hospital in Selma, expanding commercial and office development, major retail investment, and a stable residential base supported by military retirees affiliated with Randolph Air Force Base. The local business community includes manufacturing, construction and skilled trades, medical practices, automotive services, and landscaping enterprises.

The market team serves the Schertz, Garden Ridge, and Bulverde/Spring Branch communities. Because commercial real estate lending is currently well covered within the market, this position will focus primarily on commercial and industrial (C&I) relationships to strengthen portfolio diversification.

Principal Responsibilities

• Originate, structure, and manage a commercial loan portfolio focused on owner-occupied, owner-operated businesses.
• Develop comprehensive client relationships encompassing real estate financing, holding company and operating accounts, treasury management, and employee banking services.
• Prioritize C&I lending to contribute to a balanced, well-diversified market portfolio.
• Collaborate with treasury management, SBA, wealth management, and insurance partners to deliver the full capabilities of the organization to each client.
• Represent the organization within the business and civic communities of the Northeast San Antonio market.

Qualifications

• A demonstrated record of annual commercial loan production in the range of $16 million to $22 million or greater.
• Substantial experience in C&I lending, with particular expertise in serving owner-operated businesses.
• A history of professional stability and a desire to establish a long-term career with a single organization.
• Strong alignment with an organizational culture built on faith, family, and integrity. Cultural fit is considered essential to success in this role.
• Residence within a reasonable commuting distance of Schertz. Candidates in north-central, northeast, or downtown San Antonio are well positioned for this opportunity.

Title and compensation will be determined by demonstrated production history and experience. The position also includes incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
