JOB SUMMARY
The Outside Sales Account Manager at FW Walton plays a key role in driving commercial roofing sales by developing new business opportunities and expanding relationships with existing clients. This position focuses on identifying prospects, presenting solutions, and closing deals while maintaining deep knowledge of commercial roofing systems. The role also supports strategic sales initiatives and works closely with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and project success.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Develop and secure new business through cold calling, networking, lead follow-up, and referrals
- Cultivate and expand relationships with existing customers to uncover additional sales opportunities
- Maintain a deep understanding of FW Walton's full range of products and services
- Attend industry training sessions, trade shows, and educational seminars to stay current with market trends
- Collaborate with inside sales and operations teams to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Contribute to sales strategies and assist in developing initiatives to meet sales goals
- Generate and deliver accurate project estimates and price quotes in a timely manner
- Build long-term, trust-based relationships with clients across the commercial construction industry
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activity, and performance metrics
- Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in outside sales, preferably in the commercial roofing industry is a plus
- Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems, waterproofing, construction and materials
- Familiarity with construction processes; ability to read blueprints and specifications is a plus
- Highly self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with a professional demeanor
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer use
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Previous customer service or front-line sales experience required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years or more of experience in outside sales
- Background in commercial roofing sales
- Associate degree or higher
