POSITION SUMMARY

This working supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of field technicians, servicemen, tradesmen, and apprentices, ensuring that safety regulations are followed and all job requirements (budget, schedule, quality, and system efficiencies) are met. This includes work on commercial/industrial air-conditioning equipment and multi-zone heating and cooling systems.

What you’ll do:

  • Supervise and mentor field technicians, servicemen, tradesmen, and apprentices.

  • Install, remove, maintain and repair HVAC systems and related equipment.

  • Study customer’s scope of service. Ensure the preventative maintenance schedule is adhered to and performed according to the contract.

  • Evaluate customer needs and make recommendations for correction and/or improvement.

  • Manage large scale field service and emergency response projects when directed.

  • Work with the Service Supervisor and maintain regular communications regarding manpower, equipment and resources required to complete field service and emergency response projects.

  • Troubleshoot for electrical problems. Make repairs as required.

  • Document and track preventive maintenance accordingly and in compliance with EPA regulations.

  • Maintain efficient environmental conditions. Adjust system controls to recommended settings. Test system performance using special tools and test equipment.

  • Conserve, recover and recycle CFC and HCFC refrigerants used in A/C and refrigeration systems in compliance with EPA regulations.

  • Test systems for gas leaks, carbon monoxide issues, and fluid leaks.

  • Install and repair fuel and water supply lines.

  • Meet with customers as needed to ensure customer satisfaction and to resolve any pending complaints or issues.
    Complete all required paperwork in a timely and professional manner.

  • Assist Service Sales with customer scope development, technical analysis/support for retrofits, upgrades and/or enhancements to existing equipment.

  • Respond immediately when on-call or secure proper coverage and communicate replacement name to supervisor/manager.

  • Perform all work within the confines of Brandt’s safety rules and regulations.

  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

  • What you’ll need to be successful:

    • High school degree (or GED) and successful completion of sheet metal apprenticeship program or related trade school
    • OSHA-30 certification (if not currently certified, must be obtained within six (6) months from date of hire)
    • Current Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certificate
    • Valid Texas Driver License and clean driving record
    • 10+ years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (or equivalent combination of closely related training and work experience)
    • Ability to organize time efficiently and establish project priorities
    • Ability to read and interpret EPA regulations
    • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy
    • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug-screen and physical tests
    • Must stress that safely is a primary factor in all jobs and adhere to all safety requirements.
    • A skilled communicator, problem solver who is comfortable approaching customers and employees
    • Must have general PC skills including email, internet, and MSOffice.
    • Must be available to be on stand-by or work during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Employment is contingent upon satisfying all jobsite-specific access requirements, with no outstanding restrictions from any jobsite or from working with any of Brandt’s partnering General Contractors, Owners, Customers, etc.

    What you bring to the table:

    • OSHA-30 certification (if not currently certified, must be obtained within six (6) months from date of hire)
