We are looking for an Interim Senior Integration Engineer for Marine Systems to join our team in Schiedam. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the effective integration of sophisticated marine systems into advanced naval vessels, maintain high standards of performance, quality, and compliance throughout the development process, and work collaboratively with internal teams, external suppliers, and subcontractors to meet the stringent expectations of naval shipbuilding.
Key Responsibilities
Selecting and defining configurations and components of marine systems during the proposal phase.
Creating technical specifications for suppliers and subcontractors that align with customer and regulatory requirements.
Conducting technical evaluations of supplier quotations in collaboration with the purchasing department.
Working with suppliers to ensure all technical and project requirements are met within established timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
Reviewing supplier documentation, including schematics, drawings, and calculations.
Encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration to deliver optimal project outcomes.
Identifying and recommending enhancements for the integration of delivered systems into ship designs.
Drafting essential technical documents such as system descriptions, installation procedures, and acceptance test protocols.
Validating technical performance through dynamic simulations, equipment inspections, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
Providing technical support during on-site installations, Harbour Acceptance Tests (HATs), and Sea Acceptance Tests (SATs) as needed.
Fostering strong relationships with suppliers and customers.
Participating in design reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
Qualifications and Skills
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical field, along with substantial experience with marine systems in naval shipbuilding, offshore, or commercial shipbuilding.
Proven expertise in managing complex projects, including interactions with regulatory bodies, third-party vendors, and subcontractors.
A strong understanding of marine systems and the relevant regulations and standards.
Proficiency in both Dutch and English, complemented by excellent communication skills.
Strong references, as a security screening will be part of the hiring process.
Permanent EU citizenship and a valid passport are mandatory. Candidates with an EU (work) visa or those holding non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible due to the military nature of our projects.
