In this role, you act as the right hand of the Discipline Manager and play a key role in both technical execution and team development. You will work on a wide variety of multidisciplinary industrial projects across sectors such as chemicals, oil & gas, energy, waste processing, and sustainable industrial processes.

From concept development through project delivery, you will be involved in complex technical challenges where safety, sustainability, and efficiency are central themes.

As a Lead Process Engineer, you combine hands-on engineering expertise with leadership responsibilities. You coordinate projects, support colleagues, interact with clients, and contribute directly to the successful execution of engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Discipline Manager Process Engineering in daily technical and operational activities.

Act as a working lead within the Process Engineering team and contribute to the department’s growth ambitions.

Coordinate engineering activities, workload distribution, project progress, planning, and budgets.

Align project scope and technical requirements with clients and stakeholders.

Visit client sites regularly to discuss technical challenges and project execution.

Develop and review complex process engineering designs and calculations.

Ensure all deliverables comply with client specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements.

Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and support other disciplines where required.

Serve as the technical point of contact for process engineering matters toward clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Translate customer requirements into practical, efficient, and sustainable engineering solutions.

Contribute to projects focused on emission reduction, energy efficiency, and safe industrial operations.

Maintain strong focus on safety, sustainability, quality, and project efficiency.

What do you need

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience within an engineering consultancy or industrial engineering environment.

At least 5 years of experience in a leading role within Process Engineering.

Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Process Engineer in industrial sectors such as oil & gas, chemicals, or energy.

Experience with in pharmaceutical or food industries is considered an advantage.

Strong knowledge of multidisciplinary engineering projects, industry standards, codes, and pressure-containing installations.

Deep understanding of process engineering principles, regulations, design codes, and industry best practices.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to evaluate alternative technical solutions.

Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage priorities effectively.

Ability to translate complex technical challenges into practical engineering solutions.

Strong stakeholder management skills and customer-oriented mindset.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Must Have:
Good command of Dutch or willingness to learn Dutch quickly.
