About the position of Junior R&D Test EngineerWhat can you expect from the role of Junior R&D Test Engineer at Huisman?
We offer a challenging position within an international organisation where innovation, quality, flexibility and creativity are key. As a Junior R&D Test Engineer, you enjoy a hands‑on approach and work together with engineers from various projects and disciplines.
In this role you will work as an R&D Test Engineer in Huisman’s laboratory. The lab features several test set‑ups that allow us to put technical questions to the test. We build prototypes or use fixed set‑ups to perform mechanical tests. In addition, you will be responsible for the machines, maintenance and modifications to the test set‑ups, as well as preparing, executing and reporting on the tests.
Questions for the R&D department can arise at different stages of the process. Test requests may originate during the pre‑sales and engineering phases, but also during production, commissioning and maintenance. Huisman’s projects are large and complex, with budgets that can exceed fifty million euros.

What do we expect of you?As a Junior R&D Test Engineer you are responsible for building and implementing test plans in our laboratory. You prefer a practical approach and can connect with our R&D Engineers without difficulty.
This includes:
- Developing detailed test plans, drawings and schemes of the test equipment;
- Commissioning and calibrating the test set‑up;
- Executing tests and solving operational problems;
- Informing colleagues about progress and test results, ensuring expected quality;
- Flexible and creative;

- Proactive and persuasive;
- Result and customer oriented;
- Interest in new technologies;
You have:
- MBO 4 level or Bachelor degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering;
- Experience with 2D and 3D Inventor;
- Affinity with conducting experiments and collecting data;
- The ability to adapt quickly to new requirements and prioritize effectively;
- Practical disposition and good command of Dutch and English, orally and in writing;
- An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
- Good command of Dutch and English verbally and in writing.
